Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy applies to the Flashy Learn mobile application and related services operated by Maksim Kuptsov ("Service Provider", "we", "us", or "our").
Information We Collect
Flashy Learn is designed to store your learning content on your device. This can include flashcard topics, words, translations, descriptions, learning goals, test progress, and backup files that you choose to export or restore.
The app may also process technical and usage information, depending on your consent and device settings. This can include app events, crash reports, device model, operating system version, app version, approximate diagnostics information, and Internet Protocol address as processed by third-party service providers.
How We Use Information
We use information for the following purposes:
- to provide flashcard, study, testing, and backup features;
- to generate optional AI-assisted word drafts;
- to understand app usage and improve app reliability;
- to diagnose crashes and technical problems;
- to comply with legal obligations and protect user safety.
Local Data and Backups
Flashcard content that you create is stored locally on your device. If you export a backup, the backup file is created at your request and is controlled by you. If you import or restore a backup, the app reads the file you select in order to restore your learning data.
Artificial Intelligence Features
Flashy Learn can use an on-device AI model to help generate word drafts. When you use this feature, the text you enter for generation is processed locally on your device by the installed model. The app does not send that prompt text to our servers for AI processing.
If you choose to download the optional AI model, your device connects to the model hosting provider to download the model file. That provider may process technical request data such as your IP address, device/browser request information, and download metadata according to its own privacy practices.
Analytics and Crash Reporting
Flashy Learn uses Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics only when collection is enabled through the app's consent flow. Analytics events help us understand broad app usage patterns. Crash reports help us diagnose technical failures and may include device details, app state, stack traces, and related diagnostic information.
Third-Party Services
The app uses third-party services that may process data under their own privacy policies:
Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell personal or sensitive user data. We may disclose information only in the following situations:
- to service providers that help operate app functionality;
- to comply with applicable law, legal process, or government requests;
- to protect our rights, user safety, or the security of the app;
- with your direction, such as when you export or share a backup file.
International Data Transfers
Third-party service providers may process data in countries outside your country of residence. Where applicable law requires safeguards for international transfers, we rely on legally recognized transfer mechanisms such as standard contractual clauses, adequacy decisions, or other appropriate safeguards.
Data Retention and Deletion
Local learning data remains on your device until you delete it in the app, clear app data, or uninstall the app. Backup files that you export remain wherever you save or share them.
Analytics and crash data are retained by Firebase according to the retention settings and policies of Firebase services. You may request access, correction, or deletion of personal data by contacting us at the email address below. Some information may be retained where required by law or for legitimate security and compliance purposes.
Children
Flashy Learn is not intended for children under 16 years of age, or any higher age required by applicable law. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate action.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information processed by the app and our service providers. No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing of your personal data. You may also have the right to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. To exercise these rights, contact us at kuptsovmaksim3@gmail.com.
If you are a California resident, you may have rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know, delete, correct, opt out of sale or sharing where applicable, and not be discriminated against for exercising your privacy rights.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Where required by law, we will request consent before material changes take effect.
